The Butcher's Daughter, a healthy taste of the Californian lifestyle

At the Butchers Daughter, with its plants and macramé décor, fruits and vegetables are the stars. Stop here to top up on vitamins!

Located on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, a hipster paradise in the Venice neighbourhood, this one café embodies all the health trends taking California by storm. Despite the name, you will not find any meat products at The Butcher's Daughter. Here, fruit and vegetables are treated the same way a butcher works with meat: everything is chopped, sliced, and cut up to create vegetarian dishes. The menu changes regularly and celebrates seasonal, organic ingredients.

Angelenos sit at wooden tables beneath macramé decorations and hanging plants, drinking a freshly squeezed juice such as the Goddess of Green (kale, cucumber, green apple, fennel, pineapple, thyme, and spirulina) and filling up on vitamins, or munching on pancakes, a mixed salad, a sandwich, or avocado on toast. The Butcher's Daughter does not take reservations, and tables are in demand for weekend brunch. So, stop by in the week to take advantage of the peace and greenery, whether inside the restaurant or outside on the delightful terrace.
