Symphony Hall: the finest in the USA

Symphony Hall: the finest in the USA

Home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the famous Boston Pops, Symphony Hall is considered, acoustically, one of the three best concert halls in the world.

For classical music lovers, Boston's Symphony Hall is a must. Built in 1900, this vast concert hall of more than 2,000 seats was inspired by the Leipzig Gewandhaus, but it was endowed with something entirely new: modern acoustics. The proximity of Harvard, and Berklee Music College, just a block away, is of course no accident. Beethoven is the only name inscribed above the stage (the founders couldn't agree on anyone else) but Ravel, Mahler, Mozart etc. get their fair share of play. Attend a concert during the famous Pops Spring and Holiday seasons, when extra tables are added on the main floor. It's an unforgettable experience.
