Not far from Saint-Tropez and its frantic pace, the medieval village of Ramatuelle is a haven of nature and tranquillity, nestled at the top of the buttress of the Paillas hill.
The beauty of the site offers breath-taking landscapes. With its vertical drop of 130 metres, the Ramatuelle hill towers over the beaches of Pampelonne, Cape Camarat, and Cape Taillat. The quintessential heart of the village is an invitation to stroll, where you will discover, at each turn of cobbled and flowery streets, delightful passages, fragrant squares, and churches that have retained all their character. Between the ochre facades and the flowering jasmine and honeysuckle, all your senses will be awakened. It feels good to get lost in the authentic Ramatuelle, where, on Thursdays and Sundays, in its main place of Ormeau, a Provençal market offers colourful spices, fruits, and vegetables grown by local producers. For a family holiday or romantic getaway, Ramatuelle is a corner of paradise between land and sea.
Besides the pleasure of walking through the village, many activities are offered: tennis, golf, horse riding, mountain biking... and, of course, a swim in the sea. Another must is the famous live performance festival in early August: it takes place in the open-air theatre and is always an entertaining affair.
