Opéra de Toulon, the musical heart of the city

To discover local culture and the musical scene of Toulon, head straight to the Opéra de Toulon.

A historical monument designed by architect Léon Feuchère and inaugurated in 1862, its monumental and neoclassical features include a facade of arches, giant grey and pink colonnades, and a pediment that gives it the look of an ancient sanctuary.

This 'Temple of the Arts', located in the heart of the pedestrian-only city centre, can accommodate up to 1,329 spectators in its luxurious auditorium, with its red velvet and gilt interiors, and sparkling chandeliers. The Opera puts on classic productions like Il Trovatore, La Traviata, Tosca, and Così fan Tutte, as well as masterpieces of French lyrical music and operettas, all performed by world-class singers.

Whatever time of year you enter this august chamber, and regardless of what the program is a show, ballet, or concert you will definitely be in for a memorable evening.
