Le Petit Bois and l'Autre Petit Bois, welcoming and unusual

Enjoy lunch or dinner under an artificial tree, see the world in a whole new light, and set it to rights over a delicious meal.

On a downtown street or in Parliament Square, these two restaurants - no more than around 400m apart - are a popular meeting place for foodies and friends alike

As you step inside, delightfully quaint décor surrounds you: a cross between Hansel and Gretel's forest home and a thatched cottage of centuries past. The ornaments are equally quirky, with a hoard of flea market and garage sale trinkets piled high alongside a myriad of mismatches..

The atmosphere is cosy and intimate: chic alcoves reminiscent of magical forest groves are nestled amidst the imitation trees, giving it a deliberately romantic feel, and Louis XVI armchairs and tables are dotted throughout. There is a wonderful wine list featuring vintages from around the world to sample, along with charcuterie and cheese boards, casseroles, salads, hot sandwiches and pastries, all at very reasonable prices..
