The French love cheese. Especially when it's made with raw milk and tastes extra cheesy! Once a year, France brings its cheese to New Caledonia, in the middle of the Pacific, for the Cheese Festival organised by the Le Méridien Noumea and Sheraton New Caledonia Deva.
Passionate cheese master Gérard Poulard has scoured France for 130 of the country's best cheeses – from the tiny Bouton de Culotte to Trou du Cru, Mont d'Or, Brillat-Savarin, Roquefort and more – which will be presented to guests in the Pacific during several exceptional tasting sessions. The cheese always arrive safe and extra-fresh, flown in with the greatest of care by Air France. Sommeliers from the Le Sextant (Le Méridien) and Le Reef (Sheraton) restaurants then select the best vintages for an absolutely perfect pairing, whilst the chefs prepare special breads and elegant amuse-bouches as an accompaniment.
