A few steps from the Presidential Guard, this Cuban restaurant draws crowds, mainly for its cocktails, which put rum in the spotlight.
Every evening, the expert bartenders prepare superb Cuba Libres, mojitos, and daiquiris, as well as other delicious beverages, under the watchful eyes of the equally expert regulars. The salsa pounds and the atmosphere warms, and soon you're beating time with your feet on the pretty cement floor tiles without even realising it.
We let ourselves quickly be carried away by the place's leisurely and festive atmosphere, which feels very Cuban. The dark panelled decor reminds one of Old Havana, as does the menu, which features typical dishes from the island.
Vieja Habana is undoubtedly the best spot to capture the Caribbean essence. A must.
