This semi-public and semi-private structure operates on the same educational principle as the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in Paris. It belongs to the network of centres for scientific, technical, and industrial culture, with both permanent and touring exhibitions and events designed to appeal to a wide audience.
Open to the eyes of all, Cap Sciences is an imposing building, located on the docks of Bordeaux, where presentations on scientific and technical subjects are offered. Children, their parents, and teachers, know that it is also a place where one can learn how to conduct a scientific investigation, build a rocket, or make objects with a 3D printer. However, what many people do not know is that Cap Sciences is also spread over three other locations in the Bordeaux suburbs (Pessac, Floirac and Mérignac), that it controls the Aquitaine network promoting scientific culture, that it is at the forefront of virtual communities without borders, or that it advises other cultural structures.
Cap Sciences is a galaxy whose expansion velocity is proportional to the number of people who run it, so come for a visit on your own or with family, and open your own field of possibilities.
