Art and food at Manifattura Tabacchi

Spread over 110,000 sqm in a decommissioned tobacco factory, this new and trendy address revives the contemporary cultural offer and nightlife in Florence.

Between fashion, art and design, the Manifattura Tabacchi cultural centre took hold of a former 1930 tobacco factory, decommissioned in 2001. Away from the historical heart of town, the place rapidly grew into a key spot for locals. The program is filled to the brim with all kinds of exhibitions, yoga classes, trainings with the centre's craftsmen, concerts, conferences and master classes with local artists, sometimes even of national and international stature.

All 16 buildings of the Manifattura Tabacchi can be visited, as they are divided into coworking spaces, art schools, workshops and art galleries. At night, the outdoor courtyard lights up and takes over with multiple shows. It is also the occasion for some bistro-type cuisine at Bulli&Balene: an extension of the must-try restaurant located on Piazza della Passera, it offers delicious dishes like fish croquettes in aioli or corn risotto with parsley. On the bar side of things, fans of local beers will head to Birrificio Valdarno Superiore, a Tuscan microbrewery that bets on natural products and traditional techniques. As for cocktail lovers, they will make their way to Soul Kitchen and its homemade spirits and drinks. A surprising and explosive gathering of art and food!
